What can be hidden in a photo

GPS location. Many phone photos record exactly where you took them, sometimes down to a few meters.
Camera and device. The make, model and sometimes the serial number of the camera or phone.
Date and time. When the photo was taken and when it was edited.
Editing history. Software names, XMP data, comments, author and copyright fields, and embedded preview images.

Questions

Are my photos uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything runs on your device, and the tool does not download any extra files to process your photos.

Does removing metadata reduce image quality?

No. The tool removes the metadata blocks from the file without re-compressing the image, so the pixels stay exactly the same.

Why keep the photo rotation?

Phones often store a photo sideways and use a rotation tag to display it upright. If you remove that tag, the photo may appear rotated. The rotation tag holds no personal information, so keeping it is safe. You can turn it off.

Does it remove the data from the original file?

No. Your original file is not changed. You download a new, cleaned copy.

Which files can it clean?

JPG, PNG and WebP. Other formats, like HEIC from iPhones, are not supported yet. Convert them to JPG first.
